This course will give you the key accounting and ﬁnancial skills employers are looking for, as well as broader business and management expertise. You will develop a detailed knowledge of the applied aspects of accounting, together with the team-working, problem-solving, communication skills and commercial awareness which companies need in a complex global business world.These skills and knowledge will open up a range of job opportunities in areas such as ﬁnancial and management accounting and other closely related fields. You can develop your career in the private or public sector, and the course will help your progression to professional qualiﬁcations. The course provides exemption from up to 9 papers of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). The course has also been re-accredited by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).Many graduates also undertake further study, proceeding to a Master’s degree in accounting or ﬁnance.The course offers ﬂexibility in the accounting areas in which you might choose to specialise. There is an emphasis on international developments in accounting and ﬁnance, and an opportunity to study a foreign language at each credit level.You will be also able to develop practical skills through the use of accounting software such as Sage, and the Financial Market Suite (FMS). The FMS utilises the Bloomberg platform, a state-of-the-art teaching and research resource used widely by leading global financial institutions.Teaching methods focus on active student learning through seminars, workshops, exercises demonstrating the use and application of accounting techniques, and problem-based and blended learning (including group work in first and second years) designed to engage your interest. Assessment methods may include essays, reports, case studies, and in-class tests as well as time-constrained exams.

For entry into Year 1 of Bachelor's degrees (Level 4), you will typically need to have a recognised International Foundation course from a UK institution or a Chinese institution following a validated UK syllabus. Entry requirements vary but we normally ask for between 60% and 65%. Undergraduate Bachelor's degrees – IELTS 6.0 overall with a minimum 5.5 in each component.
