项目介绍:

Social work students and practitioners typically develop competence in a social work intervention method (e.g., interventions appropriate for social work with individuals, families, small groups, communities, or large populations), and a substantive area of social work practice (e.g., field of practice like child welfare, social problem like delinquency, population group like refugees.) Students will select a method and a substantive area for subsequent course work. Students will select 4 articles from peer reviewed social work journals that report findings from a research study relevant to their chosen method and substantive area. Assignments will require students to critically analyze these articles. The final project report will require students to present their critical analyses and draw out implications for the method and substantive area selected as the focus of their project. Students will work in small groups to share their analyses and to receive critical and constructive commentary from other students and the mentor. Students sharing similar method and substantive area focus may write their final project together, as a single group report. Students preferring to write their final project report alone, may do so. Course lectures will summarize key research concepts and methods and provide direction for each project assignment. Breakout groups will facilitate student discussion of readings and lecture content. 疫情肆虐,国际局势动荡,不断迸发的社会问题亟待探讨,对于从事社会工作的学生和学者来说也意味着不小的挑战, 本项目将通过介绍不同的社会工作研究方法来为学生们打下对于人类行为观察能力以及对于社会问题分析能力的坚实基础。学生将通过阅读社会工作调研相关的文章,进行批判性思考。项目内容将主要从同行评议的社会工作期刊入手,包含但不仅限于:社会公共卫生,儿童福利、犯罪问题、难民群体问题研究等。本课程导师将作为学生的引领者,传授学生解决社科问题的主要技能和方式方法,涵盖了诸如设计、实施、衡量和评估社会策略等主题;系统思维;风险下的决策;负面影响人们决策的心理偏见;影响行为的方法;成功所需要的必然代价。本项目的大部分内容将致力于让学生以团队的方式将这些概念和工具应用到实际问题中,学生将在项目开始后根据选题进行分组,纵向开展深度研究,项目结束后将收获成熟且科学的解决方案(Paper)和详细的研究过程(Workbook)。
