项目介绍：

群论是数学的基石之一，它的相关应用极其广泛，从基本粒子物理学到密码学。在本项目中，教授将结合包括魔方解法等示例介绍这一优雅的理论，并将深入到有限群的猜想及证明中。学生将自选包括orbit-stabiliser theorem或柯西定理的群论证明方法进行研究，在项目结束时提交项目报告，进行成果展示。 Group Theory is one of the cornerstones of mathematics. It finds numerous applications, starting from physics of elementary particles and ending in cryptography; it is taught to all mathematics undergraduates worldwide; it even governs the behavior of the Rubik’s cube! In this course the participants will be introduced to this elegant theory in an example-driven way. We will start with the basics, and reach some of the most exciting results of the elementary theory of finite groups.
